Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) applies to everyone who uses services provided by QUANTUM LEAP TELECOM LLC (“Quantum Leap Telecom”), including residential and business broadband, SD-WAN, managed WiFi and private cloud. It is part of our Terms of Service. Customers are responsible for use of their service by anyone they allow to use it.

You may not use our services to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation, or promote or facilitate illegal activity.
• Transmit, store or distribute child sexual abuse material. We report apparent violations to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and cooperate with law enforcement.
• Threaten, harass, stalk or defraud others, including through phishing or impersonation.
• Distribute malware, ransomware, spyware or other malicious code.
• Infringe copyrights, trademarks or other intellectual property rights.

You may not:

• Access or attempt to access systems, accounts or data without authorization.
• Probe, scan or test the vulnerability of any system or network without the owner’s permission — including ours.
• Launch or take part in denial-of-service attacks, or operate botnets or command-and-control infrastructure.
• Forge packet headers, spoof IP or MAC addresses, or otherwise misrepresent the origin of traffic.
• Interfere with, or attempt to circumvent, our network equipment, provisioning or security controls.

Good-faith security research is welcome. If you believe you have found a vulnerability in our systems, contact noc@quantumleaptelecom.org before testing further and we will work with you.

• Do not send unsolicited bulk email or messages, or messages that violate the CAN-SPAM Act or similar laws.
• Do not operate open mail relays or open proxies.
• Do not use our services to harvest addresses for spam or to host sites advertised through spam.

Residential plans are for personal and household use — and that covers a lot. Working from home, running a home lab, hosting a game server, or self-hosting a website, VPN or media server are all welcome.

Residential service may not be resold or shared beyond your household, and large-scale commercial hosting or operating a public service at scale requires a business plan. If your use looks commercial, we will contact you to discuss the right plan before taking any other action.

• Business and cloud customers are responsible for the security of their own virtual machines, applications and user accounts, and for promptly addressing compromised systems.
• Cryptocurrency mining on shared cloud resources is not permitted without our written approval.
• Customers who provide services to their own users must maintain and enforce an acceptable use policy at least as protective as this one.

We practice net-neutral network management. We do not block lawful content, applications, services or non-harmful devices; we do not throttle or degrade lawful traffic based on its source, destination or application; and we do not accept payment to prioritize some traffic over other traffic.

We may take reasonable, application-agnostic steps to protect the network — for example mitigating denial-of-service attacks, filtering spoofed traffic, or blocking a small number of ports commonly abused for attacks. We disclose any such measures that affect customers, and business customers can ask us to remove port filters.

Our residential plans have no data caps.

To report spam, attacks, copyright infringement or other abuse originating from our network, email noc@quantumleaptelecom.org with as much detail as possible: source IP addresses, timestamps with time zone, and relevant logs or headers.

Copyright notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) can be sent to the same address and should include the information required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3).

We investigate credible reports and respond in proportion to the severity of the issue — by contacting you, asking you to fix a compromised system, temporarily restricting affected services, or suspending or terminating service for serious or repeated violations.

Where there is an immediate threat to the network or to others, we may act first and contact you as soon as possible. We cooperate with law enforcement as required by law.

We may update this AUP as threats and technologies change. We will post updates on this page with a new “last updated” date and notify customers of material changes.
